Margie Buttriss – she/her
HUSHeducation was founded in 2012 by Margie Buttriss. Margie has graduate and post graduate qualifications in Arts and Education from the University of New England, and has full current VIT registration, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as well as further qualifications in Protective Behaviours Education and RSE (Relationships and Sexuality Education).
She has been teaching in Victoria since the early 1980s. Since 2005 Margie has worked exclusively in the fields of RSE and Protective Behaviours; presenting Adolescent Health and Sexuality Education programs and Body Safety Education to children, teens, and adults (parents, teachers and other school staff, school nurses, social workers, university students and more) in schools and within the community.
HUSHeducation’s clients are of all faiths, cultural backgrounds, gender identities and orientations, and all abilities. Margie is a sought-after speaker in her field. She and her team of sessional educators are known for their frank, humorous and inclusive approach to a sometimes tricky subject – and for making program participants feel welcome and safe. Games, stories, activities and demonstrations play a role in each session.
Each program can be tailored to suit requirements, whether they be religious, cultural, financial or geographical. Differing abilities are catered for in program design and development. Suggested maximum group size is 25. (Smaller classes are more beneficial, particularly at specialist schools, where maximum class size is 15). Smaller preschool group sizes are also recommended.
